My recent trip to PalauCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau
I dove with Fish & Fins and they were good. All the dive shops (Sams, Neco, and FNF) seem to be priced about the same and go to the same spots. I called around. I stayed at Coral Sea Divers Inn for $50/nt. It's family owned with about 10 rooms (680.488.6768 or 680.488.1131 or you could try palaucoralsea@gmail.com). Includes A/C, very clean, safe, hot water, free coffee and water anytime and near the dive shops. Paul, the manager, can arrange anything from trips to other islands, to recommending cheap places to eat, etc. He's an American expat who has lived in Palau for 20+ years. He ran a radio talk show in Palau for a couple of years. This is about the cheapest single I could find. There are dorm rooms somewhere on the Island going for about $33/nt, although I forgot the name (sorry). There are a few restaurants nearby, including (forgot the name), but it's just above the Red Rooster Brewery and serves awesome Red Rooster on tap (Pale Ale, Amber, Stout, etc.). It's a 5 minute walk from Coral Sea. I spent much of my time diving and resting. Awesome country, but the dive fees DO add up.
Good info, thanks. | 1 | |
