Pacific Flier has stopped flying to Palau

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau

Pacific Flier is grounded for at least five more weeks.

This is hardly a surprise. I will be shocked if they start again. So many small airlines have tried, so many have failed.
Continental Air Mike wins every time. I think that the only one that has ever taken root is the flight from Taiwan.

The local that I stayed with in Palau in June said that none of her friends flew Pacific Flier because it wasn't reliable enough, even though their fares were considerably cheaper than Continental. I saw those ridiculously cheap flights from Brisbane and wondered how they could possibly pull it off, it seems like by not having any redundancy in the event of mechanical issues.

The locals will fly Continental because they often are flying on government funds so the cost isn't an issue and the frequent flier mile accounts are astonishing! Also tho, they know that these small companies come and go rather quickly- Air Mike knows a good thing when they see it and have been successful for many many years in keeping almost all competition out.

The AIRBUS A 310 of PACIFIC FLIER is actually, since de first days of september, parked at the military section of Brussels Airport, Belgium, Europe.

well- sure that will be flying into Koror again really really soon. Or not.
