Palau from either Oz or Phillippines ?!

We are currently trying to plan a RTW trip that will include a lot of Asia and would like to do 7-10days diving in Palau.

Is it better for us to get to Oz (Cairns or Darwin ?) or Manilla for a flight to Palau ?

Hi Becky,

You can fly from either location via Continental or Asian Spirit. There is a flight from Cairns to Guam which connects with Continental's flight to Palau. I am not sure if there is a flight from Darwin at this time, I think not. From Manila there is a daily Continental flight or Asian Spirit has several flights a week. So you will need to see which fits better with your RTW ticket.

We are planning a similar(Circle Pacific) thing for next spring and have decided to take Asian Spirit from Manila - their website shows 3 flights a week for around US$400RT. We will be flying to Manila from Bangkok and then back to Kuala Lumpur, from there we head to Perth via Singapore.

I also flew Asian Spirit; Manila-Davao-Koror for about US$400RT.

I thought that the Cairns flight went away- but that may have been the Darwin to Palau flight. The one certain flight is from Manila or from Guam- other airlines have a nasty habit of disappearing, sometimes without a lot of warning.
