Palau International Airport - SleepCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Palau
Hello All! I am planning a quick trip to Palau this December from Manila. I was wondering if it were possible to take a quick (5 hours - ok, so not exactly quick) nap in the airport before our first tour the next morning. Our flight arrives at 2am, we we figured it may be easier to just spend the night at the airport, if it is allowed than to travel or find travel to a hotel at that hour. The next day I believe it can be arranged with our tour package (Sam's Tours) to be picked up from the airport. Thanks for any help you can offer! :)
As I recall, the airport was small and not a lot of amenities to be seen. We also got in at 2 in the morning but had booked with Lehn's Motel ($45US I believe) and they had free pickup. We then headed to our other accommodation the next morning. You might be able to find even cheaper accommodation with the same pickup option. I really can't comment on sleeping at the airport - it probably closes unless there are flights arriving and you would most likely have to use the floor as there was limited seating(hard plastic chairs). Maybe Sam's Tours can help you with a cheap place to stay - we did a couple of tours with them and found their service to be excellent. | 1
Hi There, The airport in Palau is very small - once you clear customs/immigration, you're pretty much outside. There isn't an area that you can sleep at all as once the flight is through they turn out the lights and lock the doors and go home. There is only 1-2 flights arriving each night. | 2
