Taxi or Car Rental

It's been a while since I was last in Palau so just wanted to check how much a taxi would cost from the airport to like Main St. somewhere central downtown Koror. Our hotel says $20 pickup/dropoff for 2 people.

We're there for 2 days - does it instead make sense to rent a car since we'll probably just be taking Rock Island tours both days?

$20 pick up & drop off per person is wroth it. rental cars are $35 (fess included) and you'd have to deal with the hassle of dropping off the car, etc. we're here now and it's LOVELY. have a great trip!

$20 seems about right. I wouldn't bother renting a car unless you plan to explore Babeldaob- which I'd recommend if you were staying longer, but not if you only have 2 days. There is no need to rent a car if you are only taking tours to the Rock Islands (and staying in downtown Koror).

One thing to be aware of is that the speed limit in Palau is very slow and seems to be obeyed by everyone- leave plenty of time to get to the airport on your return- my taxi driver drove at snail pace which made for a slightly stressful journey!

Does anyone know if there are taxis available at the airport for the 3am flight arrivals? I'm staying in an AirBnb that doesn't do airport transfers and it's unclear whether or not taxis will be around and waiting at that hour of the night. Thanks!
