Air Niugini's See PNG pass

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

A couple of questions about this pass which I understand from Air Niugini's website allows you four internal flights in PNG for an ok price:

1) Does this pass still exist as info is really limited on it?
2) Do you have to fly into PNG on Air Niugini to buy it?
2) How do you buy one from London (extraordinary question I know but believe me I've tried a few different ways of doing this without any joy)?

I am not sure that there are any flights into PNG that aren't on Air Nuigini. There are some cross coded flights with Qantas perhaps but they are still Air Nuigini to the best of my knowledge.

Try a travel agency, even one on the internet based here in PNG.

Thanks Ruth for the info. There are some flights into PNG that are not done by Air Niugini (Airlines PNG for example) but to buy the See PNG pass one must fly in with Air Niugini. It appears that it is only available from the Australian office of the Air Niugini and covers 4 internal flights for $375AUS which is a good deal cheaper than buying them when you're there

ASFAIK, if you fly into PNG with Air Niugini, you are also entitled to a hefty "tourist discount" of 50% on their domestic flights, even without having a pass. So if you plan to fly a lot to far out islands like New Ireland or Manus, it's definitely worth flying into the country with Air Niugini, rather than using Airlines PNG which does have cheaper flights from Queensland.

No, you can buy it from other offices all over the world. It just has to be purchase out of PNG and you need to fly your international flight with Air Niugini.
You also need to book all flights ahead.
The price is not AUS$375 but USD$375 or approximately AUD$508 and it excluds taxes and surcharges.

Resuming that topic. I´m on the same question. Does anybody have an idea on how to get that pass? I called the United Kingdom office and they told me they don´t it, actually seems the guy at the phone had no idea about it. I´ve sent an e-mail to a friend from singapore, he will try from there.

Thanks
