Cheap flight ti Port Moresby

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hi everybody, which is the cheapest way to get to Port Moresby from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bali or Jakarta?
I am going to spend about one month in Malesia/Indonesia, and but I'd like to extend my trip to PNG.
The problem is that I am not able to find a flight for less than 1.300 euros

I think there are still direct flights from Singapore to POM on Air Niugini, but it may well be cheaper to fly Air Asia to Gold Coast, and then Pacific Blue or Airlines PNG from Brisbane to POM - compare!

Unfortunately any way you look at it, PNG is not a cheap place to fly to (except from AU, maybe).

If you just want PNG but necessarily POM, look into flying from Jakarta or Bali to Jayapura in Indonesian Papua and crossing by land. That takes you into the Sepik region, one of PNG's most interesting corners.
Note that you will need PNG visas obtained in advance to cross by land, and getting one in Jayapura can be expensive and time-consuming.

I'd just like to visit Papua New Guinea. I have read that down there is possible to see more traditional life than in West Papua. Is it true?
At the moment I absolutely do not have idea about that is worth to visit neither in West Papua nor in PNG, any suggest?
