Cyclone Guba

Have you read about the cyclone which has hit the Oro province in PNG? Does anyone know anymore details. Is anyone there right now? I had a wonderful time last year in Tufi and in the surrounding villages in the Oro province and was very sad to hear this. I wonder if anyone knows if any of the villages with gusthouses near Tufi are badly affected?

I just got back from PNG today - was in Tufi last week.

Tufi is fine - no real dramas from the cyclone. The villages near the resort are fine too.

The Australian army and Ausaid arrived when we were there and immediately asked us 'what devastation have you seen?' As far as we could see, Tufi was fine. However it appears from the newspaper that the Aust army is giving the villages some supplied anyway.
