| penso15:38 UTC27 Aug 2007 | I did Madang - Goroka - Hagen by PMV a few weeks ago. Busdriver say that hold-ups still happen, most on weekends.
We haven't had too many problems (well, there was some street fighting going on, this stopped the whole traffic for hours...).
Use the PMV. If there's a hold-up I would say you are better off sitting in a PMV full of people than being in your car with a very few friends. They might get all your belongings in both cases, but you will PROBABLY have some sort of protection in a PMV. no guarantees.
Apart from that, I think it is important to know the roads and the holes in it. They roads are - sometimes - far from perfect.
