Flights with AirNiugini @ Better aborad in advance or once in PNG?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hi all,

I am asking this question because I am thinking about booking in advance one flight or two for the time I arrive in Port Moresby on Sept. 1st.

Is it worth it to book flights in advance from outside PNG or better and cheaper once in PNG directly in Port Moresby's airport?

Thanks and cheers,

Iker

I meant abroad in the title, XD...

air niugini and airlines PNG both take internet bookings (or use a good agent) and usually the earlier
you book the cheaper they are - there is little point booking in person and not worth risking
there being no tickets or only very expensive ones (especially around big festivals)

actually it can be better to book with an agent - if you fly with air niugini intl then they can
usually ensure you get a domestic ticket code which gives you the higher international
baggage allowance

My advice is to book in advance and online, it will be cheaper.
Both Air Niugini and Airlines PNG have offices at airports or in cities, but I could find better prices online on the two flights I tried to book directly at them. Besides, once you are in PNG, it will be very hard to find a reasonable internet connection to book your tickets online.
