Getting from Australia to Papua New Guinea without flying

Hello,

Does anyone know how I could get from Queensland to Papua New Guinea without flying? Please let me know.

Also if anyone knows about border crossings from PNG into Indonesia that would be great.

You can only get from Cape York to PNG by sea on the occasional very expensive cruise boat. The waters of Torres Strait are very treacherous.

If you are a good swimmer, perhaps you can swim? It is a long way though.

Too many sharks and crocodiles in those waters.
