getting kina..art

will be arriving in png in late afternoon aug 10th staying at airport hotel where can i get kina..good rate or is it all the same...will be stopping in cairns on the way...better to get it there early afternoon or wait get into png at 6pm...also where is a good place to get oceanic art in port moresby ...will be also on the sepik and highlands..appreciate any advice re art...am a collector

I highly recommend using ATMs. Cash rates are pretty bad. There is an ATM at POM airport just before the visa counter on your left. You can get fairly high amounts at ATMs in PNG, I tried 1000 Kina and 800 Kina in two different cities and both times it worked.
