Goroka Festival

Can't seem to find any ship schedule from Vanimo to Wewak, wewak to madang. Any ideas

I'll probably be in PNG for late August/early September, but not sure where I'll be travelling yet. I may be headed to the festival; how feasible is it to find a place to stay and travel there around that time? (it will be my first trip to PNG, so I'm a bit in the dark...)

I am flying in from Port Moresby ... I m in Papua just for the Goroka festival.
if you guys are serious about the festival it's best to book your accommodaion now.
The LP has quite a list of places to stay.
Just remember the first 3 digits of the telephone should be 532 and not 732.
If the place you ring is fully book ask for phone number of other places.
they ae very helpful if you ask kindly.

I found a few other places for the accomodation, they are rather pricey
the stadium hostel cost K66 per night and wonder how the condition of the place is there

there is the popular lutheran guesthouse apparently

The Lutheran Guesthouse is fully booked ... the owner gave me a couple of munbers and I only manged to get hold of the Conservation Guesthouse, next to the university ... highly recommended by LP but a bit too far.
I tried calling the Stadium hostel but no one seems to be there .. please can I have the phone number .... I believe most of the the phone number in the LP are incorrect .. I love to stay there ... it's very basic and I am not fuss ... it is right next door to the festival ground

I am trying to get to the show aswell to photograph it.
I have been unable to find accom so if anybody wants to share a room I would be happy to split the cost and or contribute....

Hi - I am 50's age - do you know anyone around that age going to the festival. It seems rather daunting to figure this all out. I wonder if it is possible just to show up there and get a room?? It would be nice to find fellow travelers to meet up with.
