Goroka for a few days

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hi
I am going to Goroka for a few days in August and I am not sure what to do there exactly. I was hoping to find some local operator to give me a tour around and maybe see the mudmen as well. However the only option what I have found so far costs over 700USD for a day trip. I know PNG is expensive so I am willing to pay, but that is way too much.

So any recommendation for a local tour agent? Or what could I do on my own?

Thanks

I recommend you talk to the Local agent
PNG HIGHLANDS TOURS on
Email : png.highlandstours@gmail.com
They provide that flexible and reasonable price for a budget

I have not been to Goroka but in my experience just turn up and ask around although August may be peak time. In June Jenny ph 70468746 said she would take us on a half day tour to see the mudmen but we changed our plans and did not visit Goroka. Her prices seemed reasonable. I have seen other entries on thorn tree with even cheaper prices. Search asaro mudmen. I would recommend Mt Wilhelm. I read you can walk there from Goroka in a few days by the direct route and then catch a PMV back via Kundiawa. .
