Hospital Contacts in PNG

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hi all,

Just a quick note for people, medical students mainly, who are looking to go to Papua New Guinea on an elective placement. From experience I know how challenging it can be to get in touch and hence organize an elective. Having said that, it's part of the reason the country is so amazing! The below list is a list from the UPNG (university) of all the hospital contact numbers and MOST IMPORTANTLY fax numbers. In my experience fax is by far the easiest way to contact PNG although if it fails phone call after phone call also works!

I hope that these are useful for someone. I know Thorntree was very useful when I was planning my trip. PNG needs help in regards to healthcare, the more medical students that head over the better. Experience it and then go home and help to try and fix it.

Any questions can be sent to pnghealthpartnerships@gmail.com

Cheers,

Jon
