Kavieng

I am going fishing for 1 week in Kavieng in November. Any tips?

not much to see in kavieng but the sea and the islands around there are beautiful - there is a great dive resort lissenung island for diving or snorkeling and a cool surf resort as well on another island

kavieng and new ireland are generally safe but still be careful - last year there was some tribal violence in which one man was killed and it looked like escalating whist another man from the other tribe was in hospital but it petered out when he also died - one death on each side put paid to the dispute
