Kokoda tour operators

Hi all,

I'm looking for a Kokoda tour operator with a very good knowledge of the military history of the trail (able to point out troop movements in battles on the trail etc.). I've scoured the web and seen their claims, but to those who have hiked it, how knowlegable was your tour operator? Which one did you use?

I am using Adventure Kokoda, they seem OK, I have communicated with others, and found little or very slow response, unlike my Treking company in Nepal, who I have found excellent in every aspect.

frank taylor knew everything, this guy was a real geek when it came to history. his name was on all of the plaques posted along the track. he is a bit of a grumpy fellow but very knowledgeable and runs a good operation too. we used him in '03. if you want history go with him.
