Kokopo Mask Festival

Is anyone planning on attending the 2015 Kokopo Mask Festival this July? I'm a solo traveler looking for a travel buddy for potential day tours to the festival or around the Kokopo/Rabaul area July 14-19.

Alternatively, has anyone been to the festival in previous year and could offer advice for an independent traveler? For example, are tickets to the festival required? Is going with a tour company recommended? Any advice on how to get to and from the fairgrounds from Kokopo hotel areas?
