Lae - Highlands - Madang - New IrelandNew Britain

Hi, I am in Port Moresby about to head to Lae, Goroka, Mt Hagen, Madang, New Ireland & West New Britain and was wondering if any of the people out there can pass on any good tips and accommodation recommendations, I’m backpacking so cheap and cheerful is preferred :)

I get into Lae on the 24th Jan, then basically fly from Madang to Kavieng on the 6th Feb and out of Raboul on the 16th Feb so if anyone is potentially in the same areas as me I would be happy to meet up, I’m from England originally, male, 39 and always keen to hear a story or two

In March I'm heading to Hoskins on East New Britain and are going to work my way Kavieng. I've only got 2 weeks to do it. If you find some good places to stay in New Britain and Ireland would you be able to post a message back in this forum.

Yep, no worries mighty mungo. by mid Feb I should be leaving PNG so will pass on my findings on this thread
