New Britain or New Ireland, what would be the best choice for one week ?

Both are great choices, but I personally prefer New Ireland.

To elaborate a bit further, I found New Ireland had prettier beaches and lots of off-shore islands as well as a more laid-back atmosphere even in its capital Kavieng.

OTOH New Britain has more "sights" like volcanoes and World War II relics, most of them conveniently clustered around Rabaul.
