| donbrisbane16:30 UTC08 Oct 2007 | just back from png/west papua and good news for travellers of 2 new hotels,at last wewak has a very clean/safe place to stay,,it is on top of wewak hill and it;s called wewak boutique hotel,,,very classy for this area,,,rates start around 200 kina,air con private bathrooms.pool downstairs and nice restaurant plus internet room.pick up and drop off at airport is included,contact glenn on phone 0011675 8562100.
across the border in jayapura a new 4 star hotel has opened in the dok 2 area(central)it is the swiss bel hotel ,rates are high but very plush(rp 600,000)most staff speak good english,contact 001162 967-551888.for value for money the dafonsoro hotel is still best value(rp230,000)if booking by phone use bahasa.nice restaurant attached,it is opposite the immigration office in central jayapura.
