| rebelant214:17 UTC01 Aug 2012 | Hi there, I´m travelling in South America at the moment and would like to visit Papua New Guinea next. Will fly to Port Moresby and would love to visit Goroka Show in September. People are telling me that I shouldn´t go there on my own as it´s too dangerous and difficult to get around. It would be great if I can find someone who likes to join me on my adventure!! Or if there is anyone who has experience of travelling around PNG and can give me some advice on travelling around solo, I would really appreciate your comments. Thank you, Eva

| gwenifer23:32 UTC01 Aug 2012 | HI Eva I am booked to go from Port Moresby on an organised trip for 8 days with PNG-Tourism, who offer the best cost trip which includes Goroka festival. Leaves 13th Sept and I am travelling alone so perhaps you would like to join the group - more people less costs, and share a room with me? I am a Kiwi senior well travelled, and have a son working in PNG at present. He has warned of the risks that are there! So I can only recommend you use a tour for safety and easy access to tribal communities. gwen

| maudlovell11:19 UTC07 Aug 2012 | Hi Eva,
PNG has a much worse reputation than it merits. It is tricky and time consuming to make travel arrangements and find the best places to go, but with the assistance of a specialist it is perfectly feasible to travel their alone as a single female. Best of PNG (www.bestofpng.com) are excellent and don't cost you a cent extra than booking direct with the resorts. They even got me cheaper local airfares than I could get online. I went on a four-week trip and visited the amazing Goroka festival and went diving in New Ireland and at Tufi, and also spent a few nights in villages near Tufi. I can't wait to go back one day and explore New Britain too. I thoroughly recommend Best of PNG, the guy who runs it is an avid diver and photographer, knows the resorts very well, and represents them at dive and travel shows in Europe.

| stellinator22:33 UTC13 Aug 2012 | Hi Eva, Are you still planning on going to see the Goroka show? I'll be in PNG then, and I am planning on checking it out, also. I'm not on a tour or anything, but I wouldn't mind meeting up with some others! Cheers, Stella
