A tour company is offering a tour involving a visit to the BARGAM Cultural Show in September 2008.
Bargam is a language spoken by a tribe near Madang. I have not heard of the Bargam Show, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Many towns and villages have their own shows, but there would not be on the scale of the Hagen or Goroka shows. I would be very cautious about booking a trip to this show until the location and details were very clear. | 1
The Bargam Show is mainly an agriculture show in a rural area of Madang. It is a local event and also attracts singsing groups, school groups etc to perform. If you attend you will probably be the only tourists there, which is the beauty of it. It's not a tourist show like the Mt Hagen Show and Goroka Show, it's a bona fide local festival. You can get more information from the Madang Visitors Bureau website www.madangtourism.com | 2
