hi, i am planning on visiting Port Moresby during the Easter holidays (22/4/2011 - 27/4/2011) Since its going to be a short trip just wanting to find out if there are any local tours which i can join to to have a look around. Also would these places of interest will be open during this holiday period? I've checked Qantas and from Melb- Port Moresby, flight price is about $AUD1000. Many thanks then.
I doubt that there will be any tours you can simply "join" - more likely, one will have to be arranged for you. If savings matter, see if flying on Virgin Blue or Airlines PNG via Brisbane or Cairns work out cheaper than Qantas. It should. | 1
Thanks Laszlo. How do i go about arranging a tour then? with the local accommodation place. Thanks again. | 2
You'll just have to contact local tour operators, obviously. | 3
I got a flight from Cairns to Port Moresby with Air Niugini return, $380, so I think that $1000 to pay is a lot. :) | 4
thanks. Best bet for airfars is Airlines PNG or Pacific Blue from Cairns or Brisbane. There's a few things you can do and you can check with your hotel but might be expensive. For tours, tour operators normally prefer groups. In any event, if you want a local experience you can contact us and we can hook you up with a local who can show you around. We can maybe send you a list of things you can do and you can decide. With a local it's more safer then wondering around by yourself trying to make it through. cheers skerah Edited by: katija | 5
