PNG in February

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hi all,

I wanted to check in on people's thoughts on traveling to PNG in February. I understand its rainy season, but I wanted to see if anyone could recommend areas where travel is still possible and my days wouldn't be completely ruined (as I understand the rainy season differs immensely in different parts of the country)

Thanks!

the south side of the island (POM) has a marked wet/dry season with feb being wet
this extends to some extent into the southern highlands so i would avoid road travel in feb in these areas

the north side and the islands have only wet/ very wet / less wet seasons that it really doesnt make much difference
in my experience - you will get rained on !
