PNG VISA IN JAYAPURA and other Q's

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hi
I'm thinking about visiting PNG in February with my friends (around 10 people) and would need some more info's:
1. I would like to know how quickly is possible to get a visa for PNG in Jayapura and what was the cost for it?
2. What kind of weather could we expect in February in Sepik?
3. Do you know the condition of the road from Aitape to Wewak and a schedule of the boats from Vanimo to Wewak and vice versa?
4. Do you know if Air Niugini gives some discounts for groups? Do you know their email address?
5. How is the bus drive from Wewak to Pagwi and to Angoram? What what be a price if we hire a minibus?
Any further adviced are appreciated!
Thanks, Robin

1 read the various posts on this - the best advice would be to get your PNG visa before you arrive
2 hot humid and raining (but not all the time)
3 dont know
4 yes via a good travel agent
5 last time i did it in march this year wewak to pagwi was in much better condition than last year
it was however closed for our retrun due to heavy tribal violence - this is rare though in this area

for minibus we were quoted about 550-700 PGK one way - some days/times are cheaper as they expect
to get a return hire - a truck would be a bit cheaper - a 4x4 with a/c much more
