reaching papua new guinea from here

hi guys
i'm planning to reach papua new guinea, port moresby, from taiwan or japan in october.
i had a look at the flights and they r sooo expensive
can u tell me, if there is, a cheap way to reach it?

which is the best airport, as for the price, that will let me fly not spending too much?

there are no cheap flights to POM - cheapest is probably from australia eg cairns or brisbane

the booking window for october is probably not yet open though for some airlines but should
give you an idea

just note that even transit through australia probably requires a visa and clearing customs
which can be a big problem if you have bought artifacts (wood feathers bone etc)

You might like to check out Air Nuigini - they fly from Hong Kong to POM - don't know if it would be in your budget when adding on the flight from Taiwan.

maybe better via cairns

You could also consider flying to Indonesia and then crossing by land from Indonesian Papua to PNG.
Note that you will need a PNG visa for that crossing.
