Does anyone have any info about walking the Kokoda trail as an independant walker, would like to avoid the expensive group package deals, would like to backpack with a few blokes with all our own gear maps etc. wondering if anyone have a has done this & what do I need to know.

yep. very possible and easy to find a guide, more so at the northern end of the track, either at Kokoda or Popondetta. (you should really use a guide).

do a search using the new TT search and have a look for Kokoda related stuff. plenty of info on here.
