Sepik river

Hi everyone, we are a couple going to PNG from 3rd until 20th august. We also want to tour the Sepik from 4th to 7th august while the ambunti festival is going on.
- are 2 full days enough for sepik , considering we want to go to ambunti festival as well? (day 1 arrival in wewak, day 2,3 in sepik, day 4 back in wewak)
- can someone recomment a good travel guide or a tour for that during those days?
- someone willing to join us in this tour to share the costs?
thanks and best regards
christian

Hi
I just returned from a 3 week trip to PNG, 4 days on the Sepik. A friend had given me the name of a guide she has used and highly recommended. Ronni Bowie His contact is +675 73463253 . I did not use him, but I wish I had. I met him while visiting Kaminabit village where he has a small store (he is also a good carver) and liked him on the spot. He was friendly, spoke clear English and took the time to tell me stories about his culture. My guide Cyril Tara was highly recommended and certainly knew people at every Middle Sepik village. However, he is a real conniver and used every possible opportunity to extract extra funds from me. I would not recommend him. Hope this is helpful.

What a pity you did not use Roni Bowie. I was lucky enough last year to have him as my guide - Cyril was supposed to guide me but had 'more important' work so Roni was the fill-in. Lucky me! Yes, Roni is a superb carver, has loads to tell about the Sago tribe, and just a great guy, with good English, and very helpful!
Excellent recommendation!

I can't get Ronie Bowie to respond, does he have SMS or has anyone contacted him lately?
