Hello to anyone who reads this. My name is Rihards and Im travelling to PNG this September in a group of 5 people. Would you have any tip or a reliable contact, who could help us find a safe place to stay overnight in Tari? And what about taking a public bus from Tari to Mt Hagen? I would be grateful for any information you could provide. Thank you!
there is one upmarket lodge ambua, another the warili and a womens guesthouse in which men can stay but you cannot really contact them ahead of time - try searching here and on the tripadvisor forum for more info PMV buses head to mendi and on to hagen - you may need to change - if you start early it can be done in a day unless there is bad weather, roadblocks, raskols, broken bridges, washed out roads or breakdowns ! what are you doing in tari ? i havent been as far tari but once you get up past hagen things get pretty wild and tensons are still very high following the recent elections | 1
Hi Rihard, What did you end up with in Tari? We're flying there on Oct 8 and have no specific plans/accommodation booked (no places answered our emails). Best, | 2
