Tips & ideas for traditional culture and nature experiences

Hi fellow travellers,

I'm planning one week trip to Papua New Guinea for 1 week and are looking for:
* Traditional culture & villages
* Wigmen and traditional clothing
* Rain forest
* Montain (climbing)

Initially I have been looking at the areas around Tari and Goroka but I would appreciate any nice tips and advise to meet my requests - including recommended guides.

For the above, a combination of Tari and Mt Wilhelm should be best.

hi YellowB - from your other post i see that you are a single woman - you need to think seriously about your personal safety in PNG especially in the highlands - lots of info here and on the tripadvisor forum including some threads specifically on travelling as a single woman
