Trekking in PNG in October

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hey! Im planing a 1 week trek in october. Still haven't really decided the exact days. So Im pretty flexible. I really would like to climb Mt.Wilhelm and than trek down to the cost to Madang! But flexible in that too! As I've checked the prices of guides, PNG seems a bit an expensive place to travel solo, so it would be very nice to join some people...if anyone is around, put up your hand 😉
My other question is, if Mt.Wilhelm and surroundings is my starting point, would it be better to fly from Port Moresby to Mt.Hagen or Goroka?
Gratefull for any answer!
Patrick

goroka is safer and easier to find your way around than hagen and its easy to get to kundiawa for wilhelm from either

on the way to the coast you would visit goroka anyway

there are good trip reports from wilhelm here and on the tripadvisor forum
