Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

The first blog post with a lot of information for travelers to PNG, covering Goroka, Asaro, and Madang:

thanks - let us know when you have the sepik part

is it correct that this trip was 5 years ago in 2014 ?

Yes, this trip was back in 2014. Even though it was long ago, I've kept in sporadic contact with the guide from Wagu about once a year to check how they are doing there. Things seems quite similar as earlier.

I'm writing a couple of other trips in parallel so the Sepik and Wagu parts will take another one or two weeks to write the complete story.
I have already the maps and the posts with photo galleries, the short movie of the river boat, and the regional maps, if you want to start digging into it:

And for contacts of local guides to Sepik region and accommodation in Wewak and Sepik, check my older LP post:

Enjoy and let know if you need more info.

ok - also please do not refer to PNG as Papua - it is confusing as Papua is the eastern part of the island in Indonesia

everyone always says either PNG, Papua New Guinea or Papua Niugini

3

Good point, thanks. I'll change in the post to avoid confusions.
