| comettodaniele30777002:23 UTC15 Nov 2019 | Hello. Just had a holiday week in trobriand. I put here some informations that could be useful for who is going. When I arrived at the airport, many people offered me to pick me up wherever I wanted, but the price would be very high, so I asked for pmvs (consider that surely there is at least some pmv that are going to the station when planes arrive). As I wanted to try to stay at okaiboma (but I didn't succeeded in reaching by phone Tom the chief son) I asked a pmv to take me till the village (that is 30 min drive south from the station) at the price of 50 k. Remember to always agree on the price before leaving (villages told me that happened that some guys were requested to pay 400k for the same trip. I then stayed at okaiboma for 3 nights at Tom's house (see the post of supergirl of 5 years ago, it's quite up to date). Very nice people and family. They literally gave me their room to sleep, so I proposed the second night to sleep outside to not bothering them too much. Also staying there for more than 4-5 nights I think could be

So I was saying that stay for more than some nights could be too much bothering for them, considering that you live with the family and the houses are very small in trobriand. If you want to contact them previously (better) use this number +67572143334, sending sms because it's the only thing that works. After okaiboma I went to kaibola, on the extreme north of the island at the emmanuel guest house. Beautiful beach, snorkelling and fishing (I also seen like 10 dolphins swimming near the dingy boat when we went fishing). The meals are very good. I went there by foot, but it's really tireful (five hours walking under the sun), if you are lucky you can get a pmv. To conctat emmanuel use this number +67573065753 or this +67572892404 always by sms. I stayed then 1 night at the butia lodge, to be sure to be on time for the flight next day. Nice but expensive (single 330 k with breakfast and dinner included). If it's closed they'll open for you. Mike the manager lives at losuia, but the guardians (Dola and Gum) lives next to the lodge. If you want to walk, consider 1,5/2 hours from okaiboma-airport and 3/4 hrs airport-kaibola.

| mchafe0017:16 UTC20 Nov 2019 | We want to fly to Trobriand from Wewak. Do you know if that is possible?
Thanks.

| comettodaniele30777018:00 UTC20 Nov 2019 | No direct flights. You have to stop in port moresby at least 1 night. From POM there are only 3 flights a week this period (sun mon fri).

| mchafe0018:08 UTC20 Nov 2019 | One more question: are those flights on those three days in both directions to and from POM? Thanks again.

just beware this is one of the less reliable flights due to weather etc - you need to maintain a flexible schedule
