visa

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

just an update on the on going "spat" between png and australia,it now seems that all australians as of march 1st,
will need a visa before entering png, this includes tourists....in a nutshell due to this crazy political standoff, australians will need to get visa at consulates before going!!!!
hope this helps......hope this does not last too long....ms bishop!

note this is only for australians !

other countries nationals (US UK etc) can still get visa on arrival which is now free

1

Just out of curiosity, what's the standoff about?
AU and PNG used to be best friends.

2

PNG wants a mutual agreement with australia so PNG citizens can get visa on arrival

note also cruise ship passengers of any nationality are not affected as they have special
arrangements for visits

3

Oops, I can see how that wish by PNG has lead here.

4

It seems Australian Government is determined to piss off not only PNG but New Zealand , they seem to forget that these 2 nations have fought side by side with us, but sadly are now being treated like 2nd class nations while Abbott etc suck up to USA and try and big note themselves on the world stage . Bring on the next election so we can hopefully repair our relations with our neighbours.

Oh dear, the timing of my trip is becoming so bad it's almost comical!

Looks like its official since March 1st
