Visa on Arrival Jayapura port

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

Hello! I'm going to PNG next month and I will leave PNG to Indonesia threw north West border. I need to be in Indonesia 2 months, but I know that if I cross land border I will only get 30 days free visa which I can't extend. (I am UE Citizen).
I heard there is an option to do 60 days visa in Venimo, but it's not confirmed and I found different informations, saying I can and different that I can't do it in Vanimo Indonesian consulate. (I text Vanimo Indonesia. Consulate but they didn't reply).

I also found imformation on official website that Jayapura port gives Visa on Arrival which costs 35 dollars and you can extend it for 30 days more which would be good option for me, but I can't find any boat crossing border from PNG to Jayapura.

Does anyone have any information how to cross PNG/Indonesian border to get VOA (Visa on Arrival) in Jayapura port?

Hello Ania

Hm unfortunately i cant help you in this case, i did the boarder crossing the other way from Jaya to Vanimo in 2015.
As i go back to PNG in October and want to do the boarder crossing from vanimo to Jaya aswell i would be interested in these informations you mentioned above.

I need a 2 months indonesian visa swell. My plan is to try it at the Indonesisn embassy in Port Moresby or the one in Vanimo.

Would be nice to hear from you how you did it.

Have a nice trip, PNG is amazing. I have very good contacts on the sepik (in ambunti) so if you need them just writ me.

cheers Claudio
