Visa Question!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Papua New Guinea

I recently bought round trip airfare to PNG and without thinking, will be in the country for 64 days. As far as I can tell, you can ONLY get up to a 60 day tourist visa now, and renew it once with some hassle to 90 days!
Is there a longer visa than 60 days?! I will be arriving on PNG by airport at Port Moresby.
I am also interested in traveling to Irian Jaya West Papua in Indonesia. Perhaps this would help my visa situation.
Is it easy to travel back and forth between Irian Jaya and PNG?

Thank you

You can enter Papua, Indonesia from Vanimo to Jayapura. There is a PNG Consulate in Jayapura where you can apply for a second visa. Be prepared to wait a week.

lots of previous posts on the cross border situation, you will need lots of patience if you go to png consul in entrop, can be very frustrating and takes between 4-7 days...250,000 rupiah, you may want to save time and money by cutting your trip to 60days?

Hmm. Interesting. Thank you for the information... I think I'll just end up playing this one by ear as is usually required with these sorts of travels.
