What to do in Vanimo area?

Hello,

I will be staying in Vanimo for about 3 days before heading to Jayapura, Indonesia, and I wanted to know if it is possible to see anything interesting around that area. I was thinking about hiring a local guide for a day or two, but I am not sure what there is to see around Vanimo. There isn't much information on the internet either.
Any good suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I have been to Vanimo several times and don't think there is anything to see thereabouts besides the beach and maybe the market (on the right day).
Having said that, it is a pleasant little town.

It's great for surfing with very consistent waves if that is something you are into.

Thanks Cosmo! I have heard that they have great beaches. I am actually looking for a bit of culture without having to go any further than Vanimo. I am going to keep researching.
