Booking diving in Advance for Palau ?

HI Should I book a flight( which is discounted by $300 , diving and accommodation package for 14 nts / 12 days diving before going or will I do it much cheaper independantley?
I.E. Flying there myself and haggling for the rooms and diving when I arrive?

I think the cheapest rooms in Palau start around $30/night - calculate!
Overall, it might depend on how much comfort you need and whether you want to dive every day or not.

I am not a diver but we did stay at Lehn's Motel in February and paid US$55.00 for a very nice studio room with kitchen. We did a couple of snorkeling/kayaking tours with Sam's Tours that ran about US$110 per person - don't know what they charge for divers. Hopefully this can give you some idea of the costs of things there. We also flew out of Manila and fares cost about CDN$715.00 each. You could try having a look at tripadvisor as there were some reviews and comments about the dive shops. Palau was expensive for us but it was worth every penny we spent and we would go back in a heartbeat. The snorkeling was the best we have ever done and I can just imagine the diving would be out of this world as well.!

Just to let people know, I answered my own question by rolling the dice.
I found a hotel ( the Antelope) for $25 per night, and I haggled a liveaboard dive trip down from $4700 to $2000 last minute. Probably would not have got away with this in high season but it worked for me!
