Accommodation, Apia September 08, Recommendations?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa
Hi I am a female travelling alone to Apia, Samoa for the Teuila festival in Sept. I am trying to decide where to stay and have narrowed my options down to the following 3 hotels/B&B due to price, location and all having pools. 1) Eden's Edge Can anyone provide me on a recommendations on which out of the above 3 would be the best place to stay? or other recommendation? I have been to Samoa before and stayed at the Outrigger, nice place, but a little bit too noisy for me. Thanks
All three are located very close to each other and of similar standard, so it is almost impossible to find criteria why to recommend one over the other. Aniva is a real family place; home like with a sitting room and a family dinner you can join in paying about your share of the costs. Very close to the Outrigger and a lot less noisy. Insel is a real hotel; you hardly meet any other guests. Rooms have kitchenettes, quite suitable for self-catering. Eden is all new and thats all I know about it so far. Overall I think that what you would get is more depending on the actual situation (i.e. the other guests around) than on the place itself. | 1
You've helped me make up my mind. Thanks. | 2
Eden is down pretty close to the center of Apia. It would be the most convenient for walking to the festival events, but also possibly not quite as quiet. Insel would likely be the quietest, but mind that it's a real motel style place, three or four storey concrete block building complete with self-contained cooking facilities. | 3
Hi, Thank you | 4 | |
Well, Aniva's and Eden are in the WST $100 - 150 range and the Insel charges about WST $250. At a rate of WST $300-400 you are at the top end of the rates in Apia already, even higher than Aggie Grey's Hotel ... I do certainly not say that it is not worth it, but I would hardly call it 'affordable' or comparable with the three other places mentioned by the OP. | 5
