Any info on Le Alaimoana Hotel v Millenia?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa

Hi all, and thank you in advance for being so much help. I just heard of the Le Alaimoana Hotel while i was looking at info on the Millenia. It has been so very long since i was in Samoa, neither of these were even thought of. the le alaimoana sounds kind of like aggie's was back in the 70's and 80's ? And i read good and not-so-good reviews about the Millenia. thanks heaps!!!!!

I never stayed at Le Alaimoana or Millenia. I ate a lot at Millenia "good food". For me , I like Apia Central for it small, safe, and next to the market. Check out Pasifka Inn too.

Hi,

Just returned from Samoa, was there for a week at the end of March. I stayed at Hotel Millenia for the days that I was in Apia.

I thought Hotel Millenia was fine, but I am not familiar with the other hotel you mentioned. The staff at Hotel millenia were great, though. I had an excellent experience with them, and any issues that I had, they addressed immediately.

As for the facilities, I stayed there on two different occasions, and both times my rooms (the 150 Tala rooms.. so i guess standard category? ) were downstairs. The rooms were both clean, basic facilities (small TV with 3 channels, refrigerator, wardrobe for hanging clothes, desk) and decor, but the first room i stayed in was a little stuffy... seemed to have dust in the air. Not sure if it had been aired out in a while or not, but because it was on the lower level, the widows couldn't be opened. So that would be my one complaint with the rooms.

I saw the other rooms that were upstairs (not sure which category) but they looked very nice, newer, and were right off the huge sitting room that they have.

Location was good too.. I walked to everything in town from the Hotel.

food i had in restaurant was also fine.

Overall, I would stay at Millenia again, mainly because I really liked the staff, the rooms were clean, if basic, and the second room I stayed in wasn't stuffy so I guess it's not all the rooms there :)

hope this helps!

Like luv2trvl, I have only stayed at Millennia. We did stay on the top floor - had air con - and I'd say the room was of a pretty good standard.

We only ate breakfast there, which was good and had cafetiere / plunger coffee (a lot of places you will only get instant!)

But, most of all the staff very helpful and very friendly
