Canadian to Samoan currency questionCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa
Hey! I've been lightly planning my summer vacation and I'm 90% sure on Samoa. I've been playing around with booking.com checking hotel prices but they're all listed in Canadian dollars. I used a currency converter and roughly $500 equals 1000 tala. I'm just wondering what a tala would buy you. Like $5 will get you a beer in a pub in Canada, or a hotel is $150. Anyone know? My travel books are ordered but I'm impatient lol. Thanks!
I wouldn't totally rely on guide books for up to date prices. | 1
There is a huge difference in price depending if you want to 'live like a local' - buy your beer at a local stall or shop, (5 tala a small bottle Vailima, 7 a large) stay at hotels not in international guide books - e.g basic Fales & GUESTHOUSES from 50 - 100 tala or nice hotels about 220 tala. ( these normal including breakfast often dinner too, and meals range from 15- 20 tala) | 2
