Christmas Cards?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa
Do they have them?, send them?, anything unique or are they imported from elsewhere?
I think they're imported. I received one from PNG a while back; a National in a Santa hat, a cigarette dangling from his lips, puffing and wheezing his way up a hill with a sack on his back. I believe the card was made in Australia but am not sure. I've seen the usual run-of-the-mill Christmas cards on sale in Fiji and Solomons, like the typical ones sold everywhere at Christmas, as well as local type cards unique to the country they're from, and I always receive these country-oriented cards from Fiji, Solomons and Tonga. I think the Fijian ones are made in Fiji, but Solomons probably imports them. Not sure about the ones in Tonga. | 1
If you are in Samoa looking for them you might try Marita Wendts store at her home just a few hundred yards away from the entance gate to Alafua Agricullture college. She has a lot of classy, locally made stuff and that may include xmas cards. I highly recommend her place to anybody visiting Samoa. It is where all the ex-pats living in Samoa go to. Aloha | 2
