Getting from Tonga to Samoa

Hi, Can anyone recommend a way to get from Tonga to Samoa, air, ferry, swimming, etc (joking about the last one).

I can only find flights going via Auckland and that's a bit expensive and timely.

I can't comment about sea options. Regarding flights, there aren't scheduled direct flights between both countries (AFAIK). You can fly between both countries changing planes in Nadi with Air Pacific, or as you found, changing planes in Auckland.
