Help - Buget Accommodation required for Backpacker couple Jun 09

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa

Hi all,

My partner and I are due to arrive in Samoa on 3rd Jun 09 as part of our round the world trip. We will be staying for 2 weeks. We are really just looking for somewhere cheap, clean, with nice sorroundings and that has a traditional Samoan style. We really just want to relax on a beach, snorkel and take in local culture. Not really bothered about doing lots of excurtions.

We are unsure if we want to spend all our time on Upolu or if we should split our 2 weeks over both Islands. We are currently open to any suggestions and recommendations on Samoa accommodation for a cheap price.

Many thanks

Cammy

Hi,

I haven't been to Samoa myself yet - we're going in August.

I found these two web pages very useful:
www.samoa-hotels.ws --> for accomodation

www.visitsamoa.ws --> general info on Samoa, culture, things to do and see, nice interactive map

We'll only be there for one week, but if I had two like you, I'd split it over both islands. Note there are no inter-island flights anymore, but from what I've heard the ferry is more than ok.

We want to stay in Beach Fales aswell, and from the bit of research I've done so far, a night in a fale plus two or three meals costs around 70-80 tala.
