LImited time in Samoa

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa

I will be in Samoa for 1.5 days. Yes, pity but that is it. I don't need long time to see things and plan to see Upolu in the afternoon with a taxi (expensive?) and make a day trip to Savaii the next day. In this connection, to save time, is it possible to take a taxi to the port, take the 8AM ferry and hail a taxi on Savaii to drive me around the island and be back in time for the 4PM ferry back to Upolu? Again, I need quick stops and won't linger. I suppose it would be quicker than take a car from Upolu and have to queue, right?
Thanks.

Hi!

I was in Samoa for about 5 days, which was not enough to see both Upolu and Savaii (didn't get to go there at all unfortunately). I'd say if you want to enjoy yourself and not rush like that, you should stick to Upolu which has already amazing things to see anyway.

Potentially you could rent a car (don't remember how much it was but certainly not expensive) and drive across the island from Apia. You could go all the way to Lalomanu, in the south-east of the island, passing Papaseea Sliding Rocks, O Le Pupu-Pue National Park and the amazing To-Sua Ocean Trench.
