Mid-range accomodation in Apia

Greetings Thorn Treers

I am heading to Apia for a couple of days for work. Can anyone recommend a mid-range hotel close to the middle of town? I'm kind of looking at the Pasifika Inn but my map interpretation skills are limited and it looks like a bit of a hike into town to me - I'm going to have tonnes of paper to lug about! Alternately, how difficult is it to get taxis around? Somewhere that provides airport transfers would be great too.

Pasefika Inn (correct Samoan spelling) is quite central and has a taxi stand right across the street. Taxis are very easy to get anywhere in town anyway.

Check the new Eden's Edge Hotel, the Apia Central Hotel and especially Aniva's Place as alternative accommodation options.

With plenty of baggage a taxi is the only relevant option for airport transfer - its 50 Tala (approx. USD20) for the 20 miles (35km) ride from the airport to town. Negotiate the rate before though and pay in Samoan Tala (plenty of Foreign Exchange counters at the airport).
