Must see, best beaches in Samoa

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa

Hi
We are heading to Samoa for the first time in early august for 10 days split between to two Islands
Any advice on the must see places (more natural than man made) and the best beaches would be gratefully received. Also suggestions for good walking/hiking trails (experienced hikers) would be great.
Thank you

The beaches around Lalomanu/Saleapaga are the best.

The most interesting and unique sights are the To Sua Ocean Trench and Alofaaga blowholes.

There aren't really any hiking trails per se, and if you do try to venture away from the main road, somebody will quickly track you down and demand money. If you want good and free hiking with better scenery, you should head to American Samoa.

As for natural sights, you might also find the volcanoes/craters on Savaii interesting.
Beachwise, I second the above - Lalomanu is the better one, but Saleopaga is quieter and friendlier.
