Samoa - somewhere to stay near the aiport?

heya

a friend and i are landing at Samoa airport just after midnight and would like to find a place to sleep near there if possible for our first night/ morning - as we are then heading straight over to Savai'i the next day (and we have heard it is a 1 hr shuttle ride to Apia).

I have found a link to Sa'Moana resort which looks great, but does anyone have any other recommendations?

I was in the same position last July (2006). Was flying into Samoa en route to Niue from Tonga (when there was a flight that did that). I stayed at the Airport Lodge, near Lalovi village. I really liked it there. It's nothing extravagent, fairly cheap, it's near the water, it's clean, the food is decent, and the transfers to and from the airport are reliable.

Maybe this reply comes to late, but I agree with fearlessMe, Airport Lodge is nice. sometime soon the former Samoan Village Resort will be reopening as Le Vasa, and they are evidently redoing the whole place so it should be nice too - and just another couple minutes from the airport.
