SAMOA: Three weeks in paradise - Jan 08Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Samoa
Me and three friends (all female, in our early 20s) are travelling to Samoa for three weeks in Dec/Jan. We have booked our first 8 nights accommodation but I'm wondering whether anyone has any last minute advice re their favourite fales/activities/tips and what not to miss while in Samoa. We are basically after a (budget) relaxing break mixed with some adventures to fill in our extended stay. Thanks in advance!
hi since i don't know where you are staying i will just recommend the places we have been to and loved. we have been to samoa 3 times and will go back next oct. lalamono beach is great we stay at litia's fales . along the south coast past the new 'sea breeze resort' (which is lovely and great food, the owners are ausssie's) is a place called the ocean trenchs ( sua trench ) it is fantastic and you will be amazed, go and check it out. we got a last minute deal at sa'moana resort, $100 tala with breaky, lovely place ( and lots of surfy guys!!!!!). at savaii the beach at lelagoto resort is fantasitc, you can alos learn to dive there for $300 tala. regina's fales just up from here is cheap and lovely right on the beach, $55 tala for 3 meals! when you are in town check out the sliding rocks. have fun, i hope you all love samoa just as much as we all do. also are you guys going to virgin cove, this place is the best, if you can stay in the selcluded fales, they are big enough for you all to be in together and they are so beautiful, but $110 tala each. have fun... | 1
Thanks for that Sue...appreciate it. We've booked a couple of nights at Aggies and then heading straight to Savaii at Vacations then we'll do the rest of Upolu. Will keep in mind your suggestions. It's so hard reading all the different reviews on the fales! I've read very mixed responses re Virgin Cove so it's good to know you loved it there! | 2
talofa, we were undecided about virgin cove because of the reviews but we just couldn't believe it once we arrived, we were all blown away by virgin cove, amazing. vacations have added a few more fales so it might look alittle different we you get there. when you guys are in town, you should go to giordanos pizza, you won't belive that in samoa of all places you will find the best pizza in the world, on our last trip (oct 07) we took friends that had been around europe, and they couldn't belive it . it's only a $4tala taxi ride from aggies in town. aggies in town has a great feel about it, the staff are fantastic, and it's a great place to be based in town for a few days to go to the markets etc. there arn't many laundry mats once you are out of town, so a good idea is to pack/ or get in town some laundry detergent, so you can give your clothes a hand wash, and take a few pegs, most of the fales have somewhere to hang up things to dry. have fun sue | 3
